Our History
Chester "Chet" Lockwood purchased Marshall, Minnesota's Oldsmobile, Cadillac and GMC Truck dealership on October 1, 1955 and a family business was born. His idea was pretty simple: People should be comfortable while making big decisions. Chet worked hard to instill this in every aspect of his business, especially in his son Bob, who began working at the dealership at the age of 12. From this focus on customer service, the Lockwood Motors tradition began to grow.
By sticking to Chet's principles, Bob has continued to grow the business through both the good times and the bad, adding Chrysler, Plymouth, Dodge, Dodge Truck and then Jeep-Eagle to complete the lineup. In 1987 he replaced his father's building with the complex you see today, a testament to the power of hard work and dedication to the customer.
